Michoacán is located in the West-Center of the Mexican Republic. Morelia, the state capital and a UNESCO World Heritage City. Pátzcuaro, a magical town, and Uruapan with its magical neighborhood of San Pedro, are connected to the world thanks to a broad infrastructure of communication and connectivity (airports, land transport, inbound tourism operators), which make it easy to get there from anywhere in the world.
The state has great wealth in lakes, forests, and beaches. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuaries, the Paricutin Volcano, the Eduardo Ruiz National Park, the Camécuaro Lake National Park, as well as the lakes of Pátzcuaro, Zirahuén, or Chapala, which receives a notable migration of pelicans traveling from the northern hemisphere during the winter; and the beaches of Michoacán, where three species of turtles come to nest: leatherback, golfina, and black.
